According to foreign media reports, the third quarter of 2011, Apple iPad and Mac delivery quantity both  grew more than Windows PC, the third quarter of iPad and Mac combined growth rate of delivery is up to 99%. If calculate iPad and Mac together, Apple has become the world’s second-largest PC maker in the third quarter.

In a report released Tuesday, Horace Dediu,analyst of the U.S. market research firm Asymco,said that Apple Mac OSX shipments rose 27.7% in the third quarter, while the Windows system shipments increased only 2.5% in the third quarter. If OSX including iOS, Apple’s “PC” shipments growth rate will reach 99%, which making Apple become the world’s second-largest PC maker.

At the end of September of this year, Apple iPad sales reached 11.2 million units, the increase rate is up to 166%, it is twice of Mac shipments growth rate. The third quarter, Apple Mac PC shipments is 4.89 million units, it is a record.Apple quarterly earnings teleconference hold on Apirl 18, Apple CEO Tim Cook admitted that iPad sales influence Mac sales in some extent, but iPad sales growth is mainly to reduce Windows PC. Therefore, Cook said he hope to continue that situation.

While Apple’s Mac product line has been in a high growth in the past 20 quarters , but Windows global market share is still up to 82%, iOS is only 10.5%, OS X is 4.7%, Android is 3%.

According to AppleInsider reported that Apple iPad 3 will appear on the market in March 2012. The report also said that the side of new iPad will as same as iPad 2, it is not clear whether the screen resolution  higher or not.

News sources also said, iPad 3 will be equipped with a smaller Dock interface, the port would continue to use 30-pin input and electrical codes. The current design first introduced the  Apple iPod design in April 2003.
